Why Foundation Wrestling? I have broken Folkstyle wrestling down into 4 parts…Youth / Beginners, Phase I, Phase II and Phase III. Each part builds upon the teachings of the previous part or Phase. In addition, each skill, technique, and idea is broken down again and taught in ‘counted-steps’. All of this makes Foundation Wrestling an organized, easy to use system for wrestlers, coaches, and eager dads. Foundation Wrestling offers you a recipe to follow with results that are reproducible from wrestler to wrestler and team to team. From the technical side of wrestling, the ‘system’ of Foundation Wrestling will focus your efforts on the BEST 2-3 techniques from wrestling most COMMON positions. For example: you will get 3-5 front headlocks a match (like it or not)…multiply that by 40 matches and you get a good 160 or so front headlocks a year…this is a common position. Now, the beginner wrestler will have his options and must master things that will work in matches but also things he can actually master. The Phase I and Phase II series takes you to the ‘next level’ of skills necessary to defeat the higher level opponents. Add into this ‘zero to hero’ mix of techniques the important (but seldom known or taught) areas such as POSITIONING (5 power positions) , HAND-FIGHTING (breaking the opponent’s stance with our push / pull / hit / pick / post / pass /& fake system), as well as dealing with the mental side of this emotionally draining sport. We also include live examples of various drill sessions, teach dads & coaches HOW to teach wrestling and run practices efficiently, hand-fighting sessions, and wrestling related games (youth series) so that the wrestler and coaches can see ‘what right looks like’ and have a clear understanding of what good wrestling is. Follow the link to Foundation Wrestling to view our technique list so you can see exactly what you get with our DVD package. Also, view my ‘How to Use FW’ download which will help you to implement our system since the coach of a team will have a different implementation of Foundation Wrestling than the individual will have. It’s all here! Young wrestlers / youth coaches (3 DVDs) - For beginners to wrestling or kids with 3 years or less of wrestling experience. You can place in Tulsa Nationals with our beginner’s series.
